JOYCE SCRIVNER
Lived in Australia during grade school; now, older and wiser (having discovered fandom), she'd like to see if it's still there. (Her ANZAPA membership and correspondence with Australian fans give her reason to suspect so.) Since 1973, besides writing for FAPA, WOMEN'S APA, SPINOFF, TAPS and the CULT, doing her perzine Gypsy and fan history zine Of Such Are Legends Made, attending some 60 cons and working for many of them (including Mpls in '73), a chief pastime has been activity for DUFF and TAFF - organising auctions and huckster tables and otherwise pub1icising, fundraising, aiding and abetting. We think she's a natural DUFF candidate and an ideal administrator, and we hope you will, too..
Nominated by: John Foyster, Irwin Hirsh, Jan Bogstad, Mike Glicksohn, Jeanne Gomoll and Rusty Hevelin.
A number of my friends have suggested that I would do very well at a great remove from my current haunts (... or perhaps that THEY would do very well if I were at a great remove.)
I have taken this advice under consideration, with the results you see before you.
Please help me indulge my longterm ambitions with regard to marsupiality by sending me to a place where I can find a nice old gum-tree stump to burrow under. We can sit and do our oneshots in the evenings ...
(I was going to make a lousy pun between 'ballot' and 'Ballarat' but I decided to spare you the pain ...)
Nominated by: Eric Lindsay, Marea Ozanne, Fred Haskell, Alan Bostick, Linda Bushyager, and Suzle Tompkins.
